Francesco

Dolfi

Born in Milan in 1957, I moved to Switzerland in 1975 and have lived in Geneva since 1994.   I received my first camera when I was 14, and photography has been part of my life ever since. As a self-taught photographer, I have developed over the years my own way of looking at things, guided above all by curiosity and the simple pleasure of taking photographs.   I am particularly drawn to street scenes, nature and architecture. Rather than simply recording what surrounds me, I try to feel part of the world around me capturing the emotion of a scene, an atmosphere or a detail that catches my eye and feels worth keeping.   For me, photography is also about sharing. An image truly comes alive when it conveys to the viewer something of the emotion I felt at the time it was taken.
